Pregnancy Massage

A specialised type of massage that combines both Swedish and Remedial style massage and is specifically tailored for pregnant women.

Due to the changes of a woman’s body during pregnancy, hormones increasing and fluctuating and new muscles working to accommodate a shifting centre of gravity, massage can be a wonderful experience for a pregnant woman and can offer a wide range of benefits such as:

  • Relieving muscle tension especially common areas such as lower/mid back, shoulders, neck, hips and leg cramps.

  • Reduces stress, fatigue and insomnia.

  • Assists blood flow, reduces swelling in hands and feet and improves lymph flow.

  • Increases relaxation, provides emotional support and a nurturing touch.

Safe for all stages of pregnancy.  Soft, medium or firm pressure you choose.

Our mums are amazed how much regular massage in pregnancy helps their body manage the many changes that happen week to week.

Post-natal Massage

Postnatal massage can be a wonderful help in childbirth recovery

Postnatal massage can be a wonderful help in childbirth recovery.  There is a lot going on following the birth of your baby, and many new mums’ can often feel quite overwhelmed. Furthermore, post pregnancy, a mum will experience many new changes as her body adjusts itself to motherhood.  Post-natal massage can help you heal and recover from labour and childbirth; ease any postural breastfeeding aches, and soothe the nervous system if feeling sleep deprived.  It can be a wonderful way to relax and have some time out.  Massage is also recommended by some lactation consultants to assist with painful lumpy breasts due to breast feeding and to improve milk flow.

Specific massage techniques may also be beneficial to aid in prevention and treatment of mastitis if started early enough.

As a Pilate’s instructor Kristina can also offer advice on how to strengthen pelvic floor muscles and correct muscle imbalances, which are common issues for a new mum.

We tailor your post-pregnancy massage entirely around you and your routine with your baby

There are so many benefits to learning to massage your baby such as: to assist in relieving discomfort from reflux, constipation, colic and emotional stress, improves sleep and regulates sleep patterns, reduces crying time and many other benefits.  Additionally, research has found that caregivers felt more confident, less stressed and feel a closer bond to their baby after learning infant massage.

Oils used are pure cold pressed, organic vegetable, nut, seed, or fruit oil, which are easily absorbed by the skin, totally safe if ingested and provide additional benefits to your child during and after the massage.
